Before our first session,
please make sure you have read and agreed to our privacy policy and the general terms of the therapeutic relationship.
Here you will find direct links to the main documents regarding your rights and the quality of the services I provide.
My practice is aimed at adults, with a particular focus on those living outside their country of origin (expats) and the dynamics of intercultural relationships that arise as part of these experiences of international mobility.
The psychological support I offer encompasses a wide range of human experiences, including:
• Stress and anxiety
• Panic attacks
• Self-esteem issues
• Depression and mood swings
• Grief and loss
• Burnout and conciliation
• Cultural adjustment and migratory grief
• Relationship problems (including separation)
• Trauma and PTSD
• Personal growth (feeling stuck)
• Existential questions
If your difficulties are recurrent and complex, and previous help has been insufficient, or if they are so severe that they require multidisciplinary treatment, I recommend seeking assistance from specialized care centers.
This is often necessary in cases involving a combination of severe addictions and/or eating disorders, psychotic symptoms, severe suicidal tendencies, complex family or social system issues, intellectual disabilities, or developmental disorders.
Your GP can guide you and refer you to the appropriate care.
Similarly, if you require the formalization of a diagnosis, I recommend consulting professionals in forensic psychology, psychiatry, or specialized clinical psychology, as they have the necessary tools to provide official diagnoses and evaluation reports intended for other entities. The evaluations I conduct in my practice are solely aimed at guiding the therapeutic process.
My consultation and phone availability hours, at +31 30 636 8981, are Monday to Friday from 9:00 to 19:30. If you call during a session, you can leave a message on the voicemail.
Psychology within Reach does not offer an emergency service. In case of a crisis, you should contact your general practitioner, go to the emergency room, or call the “huisartsenposten” in the Netherlands (available outside office hours).
The waiting time for the admission of new cases may vary, but you can easily check it in the First Contact section.
Finally, it is important to mention that I may not always be available, such as during vacation periods or in case of illness. In these situations, I promptly inform my patients, and my colleague, Melania Zampieri, Clinical Psychologist at Your Peace Of Mind, provides support to ensure the continuity of care.
We can hold sessions either via video call or in my physical office in Utrecht, respecting the preventive protocols established for in-person meetings. In any case, you will always have the option to switch an in-person appointment to an online session until the same day of the session.
My office is about a ten-minute drive from Utrecht city center, and the area offers free parking. You can also easily reach it by train, as I am located just a few minutes from the Utrecht Leidsche Rijn and Utrecht Terwijde stations; by bus (lines 4, 10, 11, 15, 18, 28, 37, 48); or by bike (approximately 20 minutes from the city center).
For further directions, you can visit the U-OV website or plan your route with Google Maps using the map included at the bottom of this page.
You can receive online therapy with me, either individually or as a couple, ensuring the best possible “contact” when physical presence is not a viable option.
To provide video call services, I exclusively use programs that guarantee encrypted communications, ensuring the privacy of each session. These tools are accessible directly through your usual web browser.
The link to access each session will be sent to you via email prior to the appointment.
All fees and costs for services provided by Psychology within Reach are exempt from VAT due to the nature of these services (healthcare provided by a registered clinic) and the specific characteristics of our operations, in compliance with KOR regulations in the Netherlands.
Starting January 1, 2025, and until further notice, the fees are as follows:
50′ Session: €100
75′ Session: €150
Group session (90′): €40 p.p.
Additional time (in-session or off-session): €30 (per 15′)
Written report* = €120
*Service only possible after receipt of my patient’s signed consent and for the exclusive purpose of informing other sources of medical care about the therapeutic process in writing. The preparation and delivery of reports may take up to two weeks and may not answer specific questions, such as diagnosis, given my psychotherapeutic approach and the limits of my professional practice.
Switching a session from in-person to online is always possible. However, changes to the date or time, as well as cancellations, are only free of charge if notified at least one business day in advance. If this notice period is not met, the full session fee will be charged, regardless of the reason for non-attendance.
Since cancellations with this notice period generate a refund, it is expected that this option is used only when the continuation of the therapeutic process is no longer being considered, in order to avoid additional banking costs.
Please note that my practice is not covered by the Dutch insurance system, although it is generally accepted by international insurers. Psychology within Reach operates independently and does not have contracts with any specific insurance providers, therefore it cannot be held responsible for reimbursement by your insurance company.
Regardless of potential insurance coverage, sessions must be paid at the time of booking. We use Stripe as a secure payment gateway, which accepts most debit and credit cards, as well as iDEAL.
To avoid unnecessary transactions, we recommend prioritizing the option to reschedule and reserving cancellations for when you have decided to conclude your treatment.
Upon completing your booking, you will receive a receipt for the payment made.
To ensure quality care, I maintain a strong commitment to continuous education and regularly receive supervision from Dr. Gianni Francesetti, a psychiatrist and psychotherapist.
Throughout the therapeutic process, each session is conducted following protocols designed to ensure safe conditions. When these protocols require your active participation, I will communicate them to you accordingly.
Additionally, if I identify professional limitations in addressing the reason for your consultation or believe that my support has reached its limits, my commitment is to seek appropriate alternatives to ensure you receive the care you need.
In my practice, I not only fulfill my duty of confidentiality as a healthcare professional but also deeply value the importance of protecting the rights of those who place their trust in me. This commitment has been certified following an audit conducted by Visie-tatie in collaboration with NVPA and RBCZ.
To ensure the security of your data, it is advisable to minimize the exchange of information outside of sessions. Communications between sessions are carried out through secure means, with phone calls being preferred over email.
Additionally, if we happen to meet accidentally outside the practice, out of respect for your privacy, I will not greet you first. I understand that this right is fundamental, and I do not wish to compromise it in any way. However, if you choose to acknowledge me and greet me first, I will be happy to respond and engage in a brief conversation, while avoiding lengthy or inappropriate discussions in public.
To ensure the well-being of my patients in a broad sense, I am registered with the Dutch Association of Psychology, the Official College of Psychology, and ACCESS Counselling Service Network. Additionally, I am a member of the AETG and EAGT, the Spanish and European Gestalt Therapy associations, respectively.
The Ethical Codes of these organizations serve a dual purpose: to establish standards of conduct for the professional practice of psychology and to protect the rights of those seeking these services, ensuring respectful and dignified treatment.
I am open to receiving both compliments and feedback, including addressing suggestions or complaints if, at any point, I do not meet your expectations. If this occurs, the procedure begins by informing me directly about the area where you feel I have fallen short. If I cannot provide you with a satisfactory solution, you can submit a complaint to Centraal Bureau Klachtenmanagement in de Zorg (CBKZ) by email to klachten@cbkz.nl or by registered mail: CBKZ, Antwoordnummer 570, 4200 WB Gorinchem. For the submission of these complaints the following form is to be used.
