Before our first session,
Below you have direct access to the main documents related to your rights and the quality of the services provided
My practice is aimed at the adult population and is specialized in the reality that surrounds expats (people who reside outside their country of birth) and the intercultural relationships that are formed as part of these experiences of movement around the world.
The psychological support offered in my practice covers a great diversity of human experiences, among which the following stand out:
• Stress and anxiety
• Panic attacks
• Self-esteem issues
• Depression and mood swings
• Grief and loss
• Burnout and conciliation
• Cultural adjustment and migratory grief
• Relationship problems (including separation)
• Trauma and PTSD
• Personal growth (feeling stuck)
• Existential questions
If your complaints are recurring and complex, where previous help has proven insufficient and/or they are so serious that a multidisciplinary treatment is desirable, I recommend specialist care centers.
This is often necessary when there is (a combination of) serious addiction and/or eating problems, psychotic symptoms, severe suicidality, complex system problems, intellectual disability, or development problems. Your GP will be able to advise you in this case and refer you to the appropriate care.
Likewise, if your interest in my services requires the formalization of a diagnosis, my recommendation is to go to professionals who have more accurate assessment tools. The evaluation performed in my office has as its sole focus the orientation of the therapeutic process, but forensic psychologists, psychiatrists and/or specialized clinical psychologists can help you if what you need involves official diagnoses and / or evaluation reports for other instances.
My office hours are Monday through Friday from 9:00 am to 6:30 pm. You can call me at +31 (0) 636 8981 and if I am in session you can leave your messages in my voicemail.
Psychology within Reach does not have a crisis service. In the event of a crisis, please contact your General Practitioner, your local emergency room, or the “huisartsenposten” in the Netherlands (outside office hours).
The waiting time for intake of new cases at this time is around 4 weeks.
Finally, it is important to say that I may not always be available, for example, if I am on vacation or sick leave. In such cases, I promptly inform my patients and my colleague Melania Zampieri, Clinical Psychologist at Your Peace Of Mind, supports me to ensure availability of care.
Our sessions can take place either online or at my office in Utrecht, following the hygienic measures for meetings in person. In either case, you will always have the possibility to change from a face-to-face appointment to an online one up to the day of the session.
Regarding the way to my office, this will take you around 10 minutes from Utrecht city center if you come by car (there is plenty of free parking in this area). The building is within walking distance from both train stations Utrecht Leidsche Rijn and Utrecht Terwijde. It is also reachable by bus (lines 4, 10, 11, 15, 18, 28, 37, 48) and by bike (around 20 minutes ride from the city center). For more indications, you may visit https://www.u-ov.info/ or plan your route with Google Maps by clicking on the map at the bottom.
With me you can receive online therapy, both individually and as a couple, to achieve the best possible “contact” when physical presence is not a viable alternative.
To provide the video call service, I only use programs that guarantee the encryption of the communication maintained. These tools work from the usual web browser.
The access link to each meeting is sent by email before the session.
Among the boundaries of our therapeutic relationship, it is important to mention my fees and other conditions. Our rates in 2022 are as follows:
Individual session (45 min approx.) = € 90
Trauma-focused session (75 min approx.) = 125 €
Couples session (75 min approx.) = € 135
Overtime* = (15 min) € 30; (30 min) € 60; (45 min) € 90
*Extra time dedicated to your case beyond the time scheduled for your direct attention or for tasks associated with your case (administration, communications, etc.)
Given the nature of these services and the characteristics of my firm, all these amounts are VAT exempt.
Changes between the virtual and face-to-face modalities are always possible, while date and time changes as well as cancellations are only possible free of charge with one working day notice. If this minimum notice is not respected, the entire consultation will be invoiced without exception.
Although many insurance companies may offer coverage for the costs of mental health care, Psychology within Reach is not responsible for any reimbursement from your insurer. I hold myself to the highest therapeutic and ethical standard as evidenced by my membership in recognized institutions such as NIP (Dutch Association of Psychologists) and COP (Spanish Official College of Psychology), and that should provide the conditions for insurance coverage, but I do not agree with the design of my services guided by non-therapeutic purposes, so it may be the case that my services, or some aspect of my practice, do not meet the particular requirements of your insurance policy for reimbursement.
Through our booking process you will be expected to fully pay your sessions as you plan them. We use Stripe as a secure payment gateway, which supports most debit and credit cards as well as iDEAL.
To avoid unnecessary financial transactions, we recommend that you preferably use the rescheduling option and leave the cancellation to the time when you have decided to terminate your treatment.
Although at the time of booking your session you will receive a receipt for your payment, we will only issue the official invoice once the session has been held, in order to avoid any inaccuracies caused by changes in that interval.
In order to offer you quality health care, not only do I maintain a strong commitment to my continuing education, but I am privileged to have the regular supervision of Dr. Gianni Francesetti, as psychiatrist and psychotherapist.
Throughout the therapeutic process, all meetings are conducted according to protocols that guarantee safe and hygienic conditions. These protocols are duly communicated and published on this website.
On the other hand, when I encounter professional limitations to attend to the reason that brings a person to therapy or to extend my care when I understand that I can no longer be of support, my commitment is always to look for alternatives so that my patients receive the care they need.
In my practice, I not only fulfill my duty of confidentiality as a health professional, but I consider it of the utmost importance to protect the rights of all those who have placed their trust in me. This has been certified following a recent audit conducted by Visie-tatie in collaboration with NVPA and RBCZ.
To ensure the security of your data it is advisable to keep the exchange of information outside the session to a minimum. Inter-session communications are conducted through secure means and we recommend the use of telephone rather than email.
Also, if we see each other accidentally outside of the therapy office, I will not acknowledge you first. Your right to privacy and confidentiality is of the utmost importance to me, and I do not wish to jeopardize it. However, if you acknowledge me first, I will be more than happy to speak briefly with you, but feel it appropriate not to engage in any lengthy discussions in public or outside of the therapy office.
To ensure the well-being of my patients, in a broader sense, I am registered with the Dutch Psychological Association, the Spanish Psychological Association and ACCESS’ Counselling Service Network. The Codes of Ethics of these organizations have the dual purpose of setting standards of conduct in the professional practice of psychology, as well as informing and protecting the rights of those who seek these services.
I will also be open to suggestions and complaints when your expectations are not being met. To guarantee this right, in addition to having a quality statute according to Dutch law, I have joined the federation of psychology, psychotherapy and pedagogy P3NL, which provides you with an official complaints procedure.
The complaints procedure starts with letting us know in which area we have not fulfilled our commitment to you. If we are unable to offer you a satisfactory solution, you can file a complaint with the Klacht & Company complaints officer. This person is responsible for finding a solution in cooperation with both parties. If it is not possible to reach a solution through mediation, you can submit the complaint to the Conflict Committee for Mental and Pedagogical Care for evaluation. Finally, this committee makes a binding decision that both parties have to abide by.
A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step
I invite you to get to know me and decide if I could be a good companion on the road.
About me and how my practice offers mental health care to bring a sense of home to nationals and internationals.
The bridge between the different forms of human suffering we face and the therapeutic support to alleviate it.
Once your need for support has been addressed, you can decide which setting seems most appropriate for you to begin your journey to feeling better.
